Schiphol, 15th September 2008 - The nominations for the Cathay Pacific China Trader Award 2008 were announced today (in alphabetical order):
The three companies competing this year are all Dutch companies which are very successful in China. Thanks to innovation and creativity they have stolen a march on their competitors and they know how to hold their own on the complex and constantly changing Chinese market.
Hyva provides road transport solutions and produces hydraulic tipping systems, loading cranes, container lifting systems, waste compactors, moving floors and many other products. In 2004, Hyva opened its first office in China and the company now has 3 branches there, supplying waste collection and processing systems primarily to municipal authorities in a large number of cities all over China.
Royal Boon Edam was set up as a carpentry shop in 1873 and started focusing entirely on revolving doors in 1970. Under the direction of the Hubers, the family who own the company, Royal Boon Edam has gained an unrivalled position heading the market in revolving doors and safety barriers. Boon Edam started production in Beijing in 2002. Since then, Royal Boon Edam has managed to gain more than 60% of the market in exclusive hotels in China. The company is also installing its doors in the CCTV Building and already boasts the world's twohighest revolving doors in the China World Trade Tower in Beijing.
Spil Games Group is a market leader in online game portals and gaming traffic. In China, over a period of two years, Spil Games has developed into the second-largest provider of flash games (free games), accessible via the websites game.com.cn and xiaoyouxi.com and the largest foreign game site in China, with some 21 million unique visitors a month. Spil Games has set up its own game development studio in Shanghai and it is there that most of its games are devised. This studio is already the largest flash games studio in China.
