Royal Boon Edam Group Holding B.V. wins Cathay Pacific China Trader Award 2008

Edam, Netherlands, 14th November 2008 – Royal Boon Edam Group Holding Edam B.V. was announced the winner of the Cathay Pacific China Trader Award 2008 at an event held at the Duin & Kruidberg country estate in Santpoort on 13th November.

The China Trader Award (this year the 12^th edition) is an initiative of Cathay Pacific Airways, the China Council of the Netherlands Council for Trade (NCH) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). Each year, the Award will be presented to a Dutch company which successfully developed and managed, innovative and creative, sustainable business activities in the Chinese market. All Dutch companies, small, medium or large, are eligible for this prestigious prize.

Boon Edam was founded in 1873 in Amsterdam and started doing business in China in the late eighties. We opened our manufacturing, sales and service company in Beijing in 2001. Today, Boon Edam has a market share of more than 60% in China, amongst others in the market segment of 4 and 5 star hotels. Recent prestigious projects include the famous CCTV Building and the China World Trade Centre in Beijing.

The Cathay Pacific China Trader Award Jury comments, "Boon Edam was nominated by 8 out of 11 members of the Jury and was considered to be a very strong candidate from the start."
