Nagano Red Cross Hospital, Japan chooses the Boon Edam Duotour Revolving Door
Early in 2010 the Japanese Red Cross Hospital in Nagano, Japan installed a Boon Edam 4800mm diameter Duotour Revolving Door, supplied by Nabco System Ltd. replacing existing automatic sliding doors which for seven months of the year had to remain closed due to the force of the wind blowing into the hospital.
Mr. Kendo Kiyosawa, the new Managing Director of the Red Cross Nagano Hospital, wanted to make use of the main entrance all year round and after an investigation decided to install the revolving door for both the prevention of wind into the hospital and for safety. The hospital now enjoys the use of the entrance all year round, and the door creates a bright and safe entrance that provides for a stable temperature within the hospital lobby at all times, saving the hospital energy on heating in the winter and air conditioning in the summer.
Writing in the hospital’s journal, "Wakasato", Mr. Kiyosawa, says that "I am very pleased that we made the decision to install the revolving door. Before we had a cold wind entering the hospital and had to keep the entrance closed during the winter but since we opened the new entrance at the beginning of April 2010 we can have an ideal temperature in the hospital lobby all year round, maintain a clean environment too and have a safe entrance"
